SEPTEMBER 2019 - OUR WEEK OF BUSINESS IN THE UNITED STATES
Over the last few months we have built a number of relationships with global organisations across the United States and have successfully placed a range of both permanent, and contract Workday® Professionals to assist our customers through Workday® implementations and to provide ongoing post-production/ BAU support post Go-Live. Due to our rapid success we thought it was great time build on these relationships with both our clients and candidates and put faces to the names!
New York is one of the most popular business destinations in the United States, known for its yellow cabs and iconic skyline this fast-paced city was a great place for us to start focus our attention when launching the business.

We flew out on Sunday morning from London Heathrow and landed in New York late in the afternoon giving us plenty of time to settle before our week began.
Monday morning 4AM, we were back to the JFK airport as we flew to Pittsburgh to meet 2 key clients that we have done a lot of business over the last few months. Our meetings went well, and it was great to see and hear about how happy the candidates we have placed are. From a non-work perspective, it was also interesting to learn about all the history that Pittsburgh holds, especially in relation to the steel industry.
We returned to New York later that evening to get prepared for a busy week in the city. However, we had been up for 19 hours at this point and coffee sadly wasn’t helping anymore…dinner and good night’s sleep for us it was.
So, Tuesday morning in NYC, 8 client meetings across the next 3 days, and a candidate’s drinks evening to host on Wednesday; no rest for the wicked!
Meeting our clients at their offices was fantastic as we got to understand more about their working environments and culture. Understanding our clients in more depth helps us represent them better to candidates in the Ecosystem. It makes such a difference when sourcing candidates for a role knowing what environment they will be going into, the layout of the office, how to get there, and the types of people they are going to be working with; as most of the time we were introduced to a number of people in the Workday® team. When you walk into an organisation you instantly get a feel for it is going to be like and being able to describe that feeling to our candidates is invaluable and very important to us.
On Wednesday night we hosted a candidate’s drinks evening at Monarch Rooftop Bar in Midtown Manhattan which offered fantastic views of the city and the Empire State Building. This was a great opportunity for us to get to know several of the candidates we have placed and worked with so far on more of a personal level. We had a great attendance and a very enjoyable evening! I think its safe to say there were a few sore heads in the morning…
Overall our trip was a huge success, we came away with a lot of knowledge, a large amount of new business, new candidates, a lot of strengthened and, also new relationships. We can’t wait to come back early 2020!
Looking forward
As a business we have got off to a great start, there have been ups and downs as you would expect with any new business but from an outsider looking in you would think the business has been going far longer than it has with what we have achieved. September was an unbelievable month for Hale International and for our Senior Consultant, Jack who had the biggest month of his 5-year recruitment career; which is quite honestly incredible. It’s extremely exciting to see Jack achieve such a milestone and hit such figures in such a short period of time. This is a testament to his hard work and dedication over the last few months.
Next year is going to be a big year for us and we’re looking to grow heavily to capitalise on what we have achieved so far and are actively recruiting for consultants of all levels to join us.
It’s a very exciting time for Hale International as we are on track to some very big months this quarter which will set us up for a big year next year. We are also moving into our brand-new offices in December which we are very excited about! Whether you’re looking to get into recruitment, or you’re an experienced consultant, by joining Hale International you will work in a very lucrative market dealing with some of the biggest global organisations in the world, have the opportunity to travel internationally, and unrivalled career progression opportunities.
We offer all the normal things you would expect from a recruitment company like lunch clubs and company holidays, but what we are building and the way we do things is a little different.
If you would like to be part of our journey, or you’re just interested in hearing more please get in touch!
